Located in eastern Nevada near the Utah border, Great Basin National Park is one of the hidden gems of the national park system. Wheeler Peak, a popular mountaineering destination, towers above over 77,000 acres of highlands and forests.

Inside the Lehman Caves
Groves of ancient Bristlecone Pines, the oldest known non-clonal organisms, can be found throughout park, and the fascinating Lehman Caves are are a frequent tourist stop. The night sky in the Great Basin is one of the darkest in the US, providing some incredible stargazing opportunities. The six-story-high Lexington Arch is one of the largest limestone arches in the United States and can be reached by a 3.4 mile round trip hike.
12 official hiking trails can be found within the park, ranging form less than a mile to over 13 miles, as well as many backcountry trails. Great Basin has 5 developed campgrounds with with vault toilets, picnic tables, tent pads and campfire grills. None of these campgrounds have electrical hookups for RVs, but several have water hookups.
